강아지가 고양이 보다 좋은 이유

The term "man's best friend" exists for a good reason. Dogs have been domesticated for at least 30,000 years or more. Dogs have been the faithful companions and loyal helpers of the human race throughout history. The bond between humans and dogs is unmistakable.

"사람의 가장 친한 친구"라는 용어가 존재하는 데는 그만한 이유가 있습니다. 개는 적어도 30,000년 이상 길들여져 왔습니다. 개는 역사를 통틀어 인류의 충실한 동반자이자 충실한 조력자였습니다. 인간과 개 사이의 유대는 의심할 여지가 없습니다.

Dogs are known for being playful and loyal, but they also have another helpful trait: adaptability. Dogs have been living side-by-side with humans for thousands of years, and as a result, they’ve learned to adjust to changing environments and situations. This makes them ideal pets for growing families or those who move around frequently. When taken to a new home, dogs typically explore their surroundings and quickly settle into a routine.

개는 장난기 많고 충성스러운 것으로 알려져 있지만, 적응력이라는 또 다른 특성도 있습니다. 개는 수천 년 동안 인간과 나란히 살면서 변화하는 환경과 상황에 적응하는 법을 배웠습니다. 이것은 성장하는 가족이나 자주 이동하는 사람들에게 이상적인 애완 동물이 됩니다. 새 집으로 데려가면 개는 일반적으로 주변 환경을 탐색하고 빠르게 일상에 적응합니다. 

Dogs make great workout buddies for walking or jogging. They’re always eager to get outside and explore and have boundless energy. A dog can be the perfect walking or jogging partner for active people. They motivate you to keep moving and help you stay on a regular exercise schedule. Dogs are fun to walk with – they’re always happy to sniff everything and meet new people along the way.

개들은 걷기나 조깅을 할 때 좋은 운동 친구가 됩니다. 그들은 항상 밖에 나가서 탐험하고 무한한 에너지를 갖고 싶어합니다. 개는 활동적인 사람들에게 완벽한 산책 또는 조깅 파트너가 될 수 있습니다. 계속 움직이도록 동기를 부여하고 규칙적인 운동 일정을 유지하도록 도와줍니다. 개는 함께 걷는 것이 즐겁습니다. 개는 항상 모든 것을 냄새 맡고 길을 따라 새로운 사람을 만나는 것을 좋아합니다

Cats are usually sensitive to their environments and dislike change. Many dogs tend to accept change more easily, especially when their owners act like it's no big deal. Of course, there are plenty of anxious and fearful dogs out there, but as a species, they're often calmer in the face of significant alterations to their lifestyles. 

고양이는 보통 환경에 민감하고 변화를 싫어합니다. 개는 변화를 더 쉽게 받아들이는 경향이 있습니다. 특히 주인이 별 일 아닌 것처럼 행동할 때 그렇습니다. 물론 불안하고 두려워하는 개들이 많지만 그들 생활 방식에 중대한 변화에 직면할때 더 침착합니다. 

When it comes to introducing new people, pets, or items to your home or moving to a new house, cats generally need more time to adapt. They don't automatically trust that all is well. They want proof first. Most dogs take their cues from their owners. If you're cool and calm when that new baby comes in your door, chances are that your dog will be, too. Of course, some might not be quite as accepting of strangers. 

새로운 사람, 애완 동물 또는 물건을 소개하거나 새 집으로 이사할 때 고양이는 일반적으로 적응하는 데 더 많은 시간이 필요합니다. 그들은 모든 것이 잘되고 있다고 믿지 않습니다. 그들은 먼저 증거를 원합니다. 대부분의 개들은 주인으로부터 신호를 받습니다. 새로 태어난 아기가 집에 왔을 때 당신이 침착하고 차분하다면 여러분의 강아지도 그럴 가능성이 있습니다. 물론 일부는 낯선 사람을 받아들이지 않을 수도 있습니다. 

It's not in a cat's nature to defend you or your home. Cats are more likely to run and hide when faced with trouble. On the other hand, most dogs will instinctively protect their owners and their territory. They'll bark or growl to alert you to the presence of strangers, and many will even scare off intruders. Dogs can sense our fear and they'll respond if they think we feel threatened.

당신이나 당신의 집을 지키는 것은 고양이의 본성이 아닙니다. 고양이는 문제에 직면했을 때 도망치고 숨는 경향이 있습니다. 반면에 대부분의 개는 본능적으로 주인과 영역을 보호합니다. 그들은 낯선 사람의 존재를 알리기 위해 짖거나 으르렁거릴 것이고, 침입자를 겁주기까지 할 것입니다. 개는 우리의 두려움을 감지할 수 있고 우리가 위협을 느낀다고 생각하면 반응할 것입니다.

A large dog with a loud bark may seem like the better watchdog, but small dogs are sometimes even more alert when it comes to detecting outside noises. The little ones may not be able to physically fight off intruders, but they'll certainly alert you about the danger. And many would-be intruders will avoid contact with any dog for fear of being bitten, no matter what the pup's size.

시끄럽게 짖는 큰 개는 더 나은 감시견처럼 보일 수 있지만 작은 개는 때때로 외부 소음을 감지할 때 더 민첩합니다. 작은 강아지는 물리적으로 침입자와 싸울 수는 없지만 위험에 대해 분명히 경고할 것입니다. 그리고 많은 침입자들은 강아지의 크기에 관계없이 물릴까봐 두려워 개와의 접촉을 피합니다.

Comparing dogs and cats is like comparing apples to oranges. Each species has its pros and cons, and both are special in their own ways. This age-old battle of dog people versus cat people doesn't really need to continue.

Can't we all just get along? Cats and dogs can learn to live happily together. Why choose? Just get both!
