Perfumes have been historically used primarily for fragrance. Aroma or fragrance has also been added to the cosmetics to make it more attractive. These fragrance products emit a range of chemicals including hazardous pollutants but the ingredients do not fully disclosed on the product label. Hence, they are found to cause various detrimental effects ion human health. The detrimental effects associated with the use of perfumes are contact dermatitis, contact urticaria, and photo allergy and photo toxicity. The word perfume derives from the Latin perfumare, meaning "to smoke through". Fragrances are complex combinations of natural and/or man-made substances that are added to many consumer products to give them a distinctive smell. But over exposure to these fragrance products can cause a range of adverse effects on human health including migraine headaches, contact dermatitis, asthma attacks, respiratory difficulties etc. About 1 in 3 people report having health problems when exposed to fragranced products. Those problems include asthma attacks, hay fever, headache, migraine, dizziness, breathing problems, rashes, congestion, nausea and seizures. Dangers of Synthetic Scents Include Cancer, Asthma and Kidney Damage합성 향의 위험에는 암, 천식, 신장 손상이 포함됩니다. Synthetic scents or “fragrance” represent an unidentified mixture of ingredients including carcinogens, allergens, respiratory irritants, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxic chemicals and environmental toxicants. These artificial scents can can be found in all kinds of body care and cosmetic products, as well as air fresheners, cleaning materials and laundry detergents. According to the Campaign for Safer Cosmetics, hair products are especially problematic. More than 95 percent of shampoos, conditioners and styling products contain fragrance as an ingredient. Research conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found an average of 14 chemicals in 17 name brand fragrance products. But it doesn’t stop there — none of these chemicals were actually listed on the label. A National Academy of Sciences points out some vital facts: About 95 percent of chemicals used in synthetic fragrances are derived from petroleum (crude oil). They include benzene derivatives (carcinogenic), aldehydes, toluene and many other known toxic chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions. Unfortunately, 30 years later, toxic ingredients continue turn up in products we use and breathe in on a daily basis. Some of the worst toxic ingredients used in lotions, shampoos, laundry detergents, cleaning products and so much more include synthetic scents, often listed as on labels as the elusive “fragrance.” And many on the list are known or suspected endocrine disruptors, compounds that tinker with hormonal health that can trigger weight gain and even set you up for diseases decades down the line.

Why millions of people watch videos of strangers eating huge amounts of food수백만 명의 사람들이 엄청난 양의 음식을 먹는 낯선 사람의 비디오를 왜 보는 걸까? Mukbang has grown into an epic internet phenomenon that millions of people watch worldwide on platforms such as YouTube, AfreecaTV and Twitch. Mukbang has proven inexplicably addictive for viewers everywhere, not to mention incredibly satisfying to watch — especially when you’re hungry. But, how did it become the phenomenon it is today? The word mukbang is a mash-up of the Korean words “muk-ja” (let’s eat) and “bang-song” (broadcast). If you’re unfamiliar with the video genre, it’s (often) live footage of a host eating copious amounts of food in front of a camera while interacting with their audience. The trend originated in South Korea, where the videos became popular via live stream channels like Afreeca TV and Twitch. Mukbang initially gained popularity in South Korea during the 2010s. It involved people showcasing a wide range of foods from various cultural backgrounds through an online platform, and typically getting paid in the process. While eating, mukbangers often add conversational content as well to connect with their audience. This helps make viewers feel less alone when they themselves eat. But why is it so appealing to so many people? One possible answer is visual hunger, or the idea of “eating with our eyes.” Because the brain and visual system are so closely connected, looking at beautiful images of food increases the human desire for it, as well as the satiation of hunger. Many people naturally associate food with pleasure, so it brings them a sense of happiness when vicariously enjoying food through online mukbangers. In Korea, many fans watch people eat in real time: Korean BJs broadcast their meals on AfreecaTV, where live comments stream down the side of the frame and viewers can respond with balloon tokens, giving small micro payments to their hosts. With most Koreans watching on their mobile devices, the comments section feels like a chat room with all of your friends.
